Across executive and legislative office, the through-line has been institutional accountability: what public bodies owe the citizens who fund them.

  1. 2010 – 2012

    Chairman, Central Environment Authority

    Led the country's principal environmental regulatory agency, overseeing environmental governance and regulatory reform.

  2. 2012 – 2015

    Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Mass Media and Information

    Policy formulation, institutional reform and media sector development, including work on the implementation of CHOGM 2013 in Colombo.

  3. 2017 – 2018

    Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Mass Media (second term)

    Returned to the media secretariat, continuing media policy and public administration reform.

  4. 2020 – 2024

    Member of Parliament, National List

    Served in the 9th Parliament of Sri Lanka, contributing to debates on governance, democratic institutions and public accountability.

  5. From 2020

    Chairman, Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE)

    Chaired the parliamentary watchdog committee scrutinising the financial conduct of state enterprises.
