
A seminar to enlighten the local media personal on the procedures and importance of the commonwealth heads of government meeting to be held in November was held today at the auditorium of the government Information Department.
Speaking at this function the Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information Dr. Charita Herath said that it is the responsibility of all media personnel to take the importance of the motherland into their hearts and make every effort to project the image of the country during this period. He said that similar to we joint together with heart and soul during the time we face world cup cricket matches we should forget all petty differences and work with the sole objective of projecting the image of the country. He also explained about the arrangements being made for media personnel to cover the event which is the greatest international event being held in the country after the 1976 Non Aligned Summit.
The Director General of Government Professor Ariyaratne Atugala also spoke at this function. (niz)
