A four-day conference on the ‘Role of Media in Conflict Resolution and Peace Building’, organized by the Ministry of Mass Media & Information, in collaboration with the SAARC Information centre, will commence today at the Taj Samudra Hotel, Colombo.
Thirty media personnel and Government Officers from SAARC countries will attend this conference.
The conference will focus on: Conflict resolution, peace building and the role of media in relation to problems in peace building, limitations of media in conflict resolution and whether media could be utilized as a vehicle in conflict resolution.
Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella will inaugurate the event with the participation of Media Secretary Charitha Herath.
