A training Workshop on Financial Management and Human Resource management has been conducted on 17th December,2012 in the Auditorium of the Department of Government Information. This workshop has been conducted with the objective of raising awareness in the officers of the Ministry of Mass Media and Information as well as the officers of the institutions affiliated to this Ministry in keeping with the Government policy to establish a more efficient and productive Government service.In this Occasion, the Secretary pointed out the importance of acting in compliance to Government Circulars, Acts, Statutes and Regulations in decision making in relation to administrative functions of the state, conducting workshops to develop knowledge and skills as well as the importance of a methodology to exchange information. He further emphasized the importance of organizing such workshops to impart institutional knowledge for the implementation of Government policies and programmes.
The participants were made aware on the formulation of Schemes of Recruitment by Mr. V.M. Dhanasena Consultant of the Salaries and Cadre Commission, financial management strategies for the success of Public Enterprise by Mr. D.U.S Wickramarachchi, additional Director General of the Department of Management Audit, the Role of Public Enterprise towards Good Governance by Mrs. W. D Chandrika, Additional Director General of the Department of Public Enterprise and applying for leave abroad and providing answers for Parliament questions by Mrs. K.W.T.N Amarathunga, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information.
