Equipping appropriately to report with accuracy and speed has become a timely need for the media field today, said media ministry secretary Dr. Charitha Herath.
In the past, what was important was the incident only, he told Kalutara district media personnel at a seminar organized by the Sri Lanka Press Council.
He said, that in future it is important to focus on the accuracy and the speed of reporting the news. He made these observations addressing a workshop held yesterday.All media institutions should pay attention on reporting accurate news speedily. Further the, Secretary added that the Media is given with the challenge of reporting news of such nature.
Therefore, they should be equipped appropriately with modern tools to face that challenge, he added.(Mirror)
