Secretary to the Media Ministry Charitha Herath has stressed that maintaining media ethics is a democratic responsibility of media personnel in the state as well as the private sector.
He said that it the responsibility of all sections of media is to abide by the code of ethics as it will ensure smooth functioning of the sector. He expressed this view at a function held to award certificates to mass communication diploma holders of the Kelaniya University. The diploma was offered to 48 successful candidates. Dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication Prof. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa was amongst several scholars who participated in the occasion. (ITN)
