A ceremony to fulfill the 2011 budget pledge to offer computer lap tops and interest free vehicle loans to media personalities and artistes commenced on Saturday with President Mahinda Rajapaksa officiating the ceremony.
Media Minister, Dr.Keheliya Rambukwella is also present to grace the occasion.
Among those present now are Media Ministry Secretary, Dr.Charitha Herath, Arts and Cultural Affairs Ministry Secretary, Wasantha Ekanayake, Heads of State and Private Media establishments and renowned artistes.
Irida Lankadeepa Editor Ariyananda Dombagahawatte receives papers for the car loan from President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees on Saturday. Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, Environment Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa and Mass Media and Information Ministry Secretary Dr Charitha Herath were also present.
