At present, more development projects are being implemented than ever in the history of this country. However, the public awareness on these projects is minimal. Therefore, special attention should be directed by Media towards reporting of development news. Mr. Charitha Herath, Secretary of Ministry of Mass Media and Information said that the need has arisen for Media to focus positive perspective on social development.
He expressed these views today at a meeting in the Ministry of Mass Media and Information with the representatives of Media institutions in relation to the Media Zone of the Deyata Kirula National Development Exhibition in 2013. Around 45 media persons representing government and private media institutions attended this meeting.
