Dr. Charitha Herath, Secretary to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information assumed duties of the new post on the auspicious time at 11.08 a.m amidst the blessings of all religions. Secretaries to Ministries, Senior Government Officials and Heads of Media institutions in state and private sectors were present on this occasion.
Dr. Charitha Herath, who has graduated from the University of Peradeniya had been a Consultant to the Ministry of Mass Media and Information and served as the Chairman of the Central Environment Authority prior to this appointment.
